Tsentralny is a modern sport centre of European level, whose equipment, infrastructure and high quality organization allow the centre to host competitions of the highest level.
The centre hosts competitions and trainings in different kinds of sports (mini-football, volleyball, table tennis, all kinds of combat sports, weightlifting, sport dancing) and complex physical, sporting, entertaining and spectacular events (Spartakiades, festivals, corporate events).
The area, where Tsentralny is located, has a long sporting history. The Central stadium had been situated here for a long time. It was a favourite for Tyumen sportsmen. Unfortunately, the conditions of the arena worsened, and its reconstruction lasted for 18 years. In 2004, with the support of the Governor of the Tyumen region, Sergey Sobyanin, the sport centre was opened.
Its first official competitions were the All-Russian Greco-Roman Tournament for the V.V.Cheboksarov`s prize (V.V.Cheboksarov is a world champion). The centre regularly hosts competitions of the highest level, such as the international Greco-Roman wrestling tournament Grand-Prix of Ivan Poddubny, the European Judo Championship among juniors under 23, the International Karate Championship Karate 1 Premier League and others.
